1. Product Composition

Do your cosmetic products contain a food allergen, such as lactose, gluten, egg protein, nuts…?

Our products do not contain food allergens intentionally added, however, we cannot ensure the absence of traces as some of the essences used contain ingredients of natural origin.

Do your products contain nanomaterials?

Products produced by Air-Val do not contain nanomaterials as defined by the Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products.

Do your products contain microplastics?

Although the presence of microplastics in the oceans due to cosmetic products is extremely low, for a while now Air-Val International has carried out actions to gradually eliminate the use of these plastic particles from all products. Nowadays, only a minimum number of Air-Val products contain microplastics.

Do your cosmetic products contain parabens?

Products produced by Air-Val do not contain parabens among its ingredients.

Do your products contain phthalates?

Products produced by Air-Val do not contain phthalates as defined by the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), entry 51.

Do your cosmetic products contain ingredients of natural origin?

Many of the products produced by Air-Val contain plant-based ingredients of natural origin.

What is the origin of the alcohol used by Air-Val to manufacture perfumes?

The alcohol used in the manufacture of our perfumes is of vegetable origin from beet molasses, sugar cane or corn.

Are your cosmetic products cruelty-free?

From the 11th March 2013, the EU completed the ban on the sale of animal-tested cosmetics anywhere in the world. The ban applies to both cosmetic products and ingredients. This ban is set out in Article 18 of the Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the 30th November 2009 on cosmetic products (guidelines on the cosmetic products safety report).
Air-Val International put measures in place ahead of this ban and years before stopped using any ingredient that had been tested on animals.

2. Product Labelling

What does the symbolmean?

This symbol is called PAO (Period After Opening). It defines the time in months in which the product will remain in good conditions after the consumer has used it for the first time. After this period, the product may lose its properties and/or may not be safe to use or effective. This period is usually indicated by a number and the letter M, where M = month.

What does the symbolmean?

This symbol means “additional information”. It indicates that we have more information about the cosmetic product, in an outer packaging or in a leaflet, which for space reasons could not be added on the product itself.

What does the symbol  mean next to the volume of a product?

This symbol refers to the control of the product effective content, excluding packaging. It certifies that the weight or net volume of the product is properly controlled during the packaging process.

What does the symbol mean?

This symbol is called Green Dot. It means that the company complies with the Packaging Law, contributing to the recycling of the product, and that it’s adheres to the Integrated Management System, managed by ECOEMBES, which is responsible for the selective collection and recovery of product and outer packaging waste.

What does the symbol mean?

This symbol is called “Not suitable for children under 3 years of age”. It is a warning indicating that the toy is not suitable for children between the ages of 0 to 3 years old, as they are considered babies, due to its composition, shape and utility, because it could cause a series of dangers for children with such a young age. There are specific toys for babies on the market.

What does the symbol mean?

This symbol means that the product complies with the requirements set out in Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 on the safety of toys, and that it has been tested as indicated by the directive EN 71 on Toy safety. All toys included in Air-Val’s perfumery gift sets comply with the above-mentioned Child Safety Regulations.

Where can you find the list of ingredients?

The list of ingredients can be found on the cosmetic product itself. If it cannot be included due to size reasons, it will be found on the product outer packaging, in a brochure or on the attached booklet.

3. Manufacture & Safety

Under what quality standards are cosmetic products manufactured?

All cosmetic products manufactured by Air-Val comply with the Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products and are manufactured under current Good Manufacturing Practices in accordance with Article 8 of the above-mentioned Regulation.

What certifications does your company have?

We have ISO 22716:2007 certification on Good Manufacturing Practices of cosmetic products and ISO 14001: 2015 certification for Environmental Management systems.

What does it mean to be ISO 22716:2007 certified?

The international certification ISO 22716:2007 provides guidelines for the manufacture, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) constitute the practical development of the quality assurance concept and are based on strong scientific criteria and extensive risk assessments. The objective of these guidelines is to define the activities that are needed to obtain a product that meets the defined characteristics.

In order to obtain the certification, it is necessary to pass a series of audits carried out by an accredited entity. Air-Val International obtained ISO 22716 certification in October 2013.

What does it mean to be ISO 14001:2015 certified?

The international certification ISO 14001: 2015 provides a frame of reference in order to protect the environment and react to the changing environmental conditions, in balance with socio-economic needs. It favours sustainable development by protecting the environment and improving environmental performance, among others.

In order to obtain the certification, it is necessary to pass a series of audits carried out by an accredited entity. Air-Val International obtained ISO 14001 certification in June 2004.

What quality controls do your cosmetic products endure?

From its initial development in the laboratory until its manufacture, all Air-Val products go through a series of quality controls that verify and ensure that the product that is released to the market complies with the established stability and safety requirements.

Where are formulations developed?

The formulations of Air-Val products are developed in-house, within the laboratory of its facilities, where avant-garde technology is available for research and development of fragrances and cosmetics that are ideal and safe for children.

Are tests carried out in external laboratories?

Air-Val carries out safety and efficacy tests in accredited external laboratories, including those for microbiological and dermatological control. We also carry out tests that asses children safety and product composition.

Do the toys included in your products comply with any regulation?

All toys found in our products comply with the Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 on the safety of toys, and that it has been tested as indicated by the directive EN 71 on Toy safety.

4. Eau my BB Information

When the baby is born, the skin is not fully formed as it will take some time for the last layer to be fully developed. Hence, baby skin is much more sensitive to external factors and it’s important that the products intended for them are soft, caring and protect the skin barrier minimizing the water loss.

For a proper care and in order to maintain the baby’s skin health, we must bear in mind that it is different from that of an adult. It may seem like porcelain, perfect, but as such it is very delicate and needs protection and special care during its first year of life.

There are differences between the skin of an adult and that of a baby, so the care needed will be different:

  • It’s thinner than that of an adult.
  • It may suffer problems such as allergies or irritations more often, as it’s more sensitive.
  • It dries easily.

Are Eau my BB products suitable for sensitive and atopic skin?

All Eau my BB products have very good skin tolerance and can be used on sensitive skin. If your baby has atopic skin, consult your paediatrician before using the products since they are skins that need specific care.

Are they dermatologically tested?

All Eau my BB products have passed an acceptability study under normal conditions of use and supervised by a dermatologist.

Are any ingredients of animal origin used in any of the products?

Eau my BB products do not contain any ingredient of animal origin.

Are the cosmetic products suitable for vegans?

As no ingredient of animal origin or derivatives is used, all Eau my BB products are suitable for vegans.

Do the cosmetic products contain ingredients of natural origin?

Eau my BB products contain more than 86% ingredients of natural origin.

What is the best way to store the products?

For proper product storage, you must avoid placing it under direct sun exposure and extreme temperatures, both high and low. Close the products tightly after each use and keep the lid clean.

Why do they not have the cruelty free bunny on the packaging?

Even though the products are not tested on animals, it is not ethical to claim a fact that is prohibited by European law.

Where can you buy the products?

You can buy Eau my BB products in perfumeries, drug stores, as well as many pharmacies and supermarkets.

Does the Shower Gel & Shampoo contain sulfates?

No it doesn’t contain sulfates, the Eau my BB Shower Gel & Shampoo is formulated with mild surfactants that do not affect the skin’s lipid barrier, reducing irritation and dehydration.

I have the Eau my BB Shower Gel & Shampoo at home, but I have noticed that the colour has changed. Is it normal?

Yes, the Eau my BB Shower Gel & Shampoo is formulated with a high percentage of natural ingredients, which can alter their colour over time. However, the colour change doesn’t imply any efficacy or safety variation, nor loss of properties, so the product can be used without any concerns.

When do I have to use micellar water?

When the baby is born, the skin is very thin and susceptible to external changes. That is why it isn’t recommended to bathe a baby daily with soap and water, since we could remove the skin’s thin protective layer.

With micellar water, we can keep our baby clean and scented daily without needing soap or rinsing, thus respecting the lipid layer that protects it. In addition, thanks to the chamomile and aloe vera extract, it keeps the skin hydrated and soothed.

Will I be hydrating my baby’s skin if I use the Eau my BB Body Lotion?

Yes, the lotion contains an active ingredient called Sodium PCA, which is a natural moisturizer. It is found naturally in the skin as a component of the hydration factor. With our Eau my BB lotion you will keep your baby’s skin hydrated, moisturised and soft.

How are Eau my BB products charitable?
